Concert Hall Acoustic Design

Concert halls are used for instrumental performance, vocal shows and chamber concerts, focusing on original sound high-fidelity transmission. It requires high standard of sound field uniformity, reverberation texture and sound restoration.
Core requirements: pure and warm tone, no echo or standing wave, consistent listening experience for all seats, layered sound and original sound restoration.
Common acoustic problems without professional acoustic treatment:
1. Strong wall reflection causes sound deviation and unbalanced listening;
2. Improper reverberation makes music muddy and lose performance details;
3. Unbalanced sound experience between front and rear seats;
4. Echo, standing wave and sound focusing damage original music effect;
5. Over-absorption causes dry and lifeless sound.
Acoustic design standards

Reverberation Time (RT60)
The optimal reverberation time is tailored to enhance musical richness and clarity.
- Classical music (orchestral): 1.8 – 2.2 seconds
- Chamber music: 1.5 – 1.8 seconds
- Opera houses: 1.3 – 1.6 seconds
Longer reverberation adds warmth and blend to music, while shorter RT improves detail and clarity.
Speech Intelligibility (STI) Levels
While music is primary, speech intelligibility for announcements is still important:
- Target STI ≥ 0.45 (Fair to Good)
- For multi-use halls with spoken word performances: STI ≥ 0.55 (Good)
And to ensure acoustic comfort:
Recommended noise criteria level: NC-20 to NC-25

Acoustic Solutions by Area-Wall Systems
Recommended materials:
- PET acoustic wall panels: Basic sound absorption to improve original reverberation.
- microporous wooden acoustic panels: Professional material for music hall with natural acoustic curve.
- Wooden Grooved Acoustic Panel: Adjust sound field and soften reflection for smoother tone.

Acoustic Solutions by Area-Ceiling Systems
Recommended materials:
- Fiberglass Ceiling Panels: Made of A-class fireproof high-density fiberglass. It absorbs medium and high-frequency noise from the ceiling area. Lightweight, moisture-proof and long-lasting. It reduces upper echo and extra reverberation, making the whole sound field balanced and comfortable.
- suspended Diffuser ceiling baffles: The sound waves that were originally concentrated and reflected are dispersed in multiple directions to avoid the sound coming straight through and causing harshness or confusion.

Products Description
All acoustic materials for concert hall are strictly manufactured to meet international professional acoustic and safety standards, ensuring stable long-term indoor sound environment and safe indoor application.

5. Adaptive Performance: Moisture-proof and sag-resistant, fit high ceiling and large indoor space long-term use
6. Installation System: Modular customized size, compatible with steel frame and wall mounting system, easy installation and later maintenance
Design Philosophy

Our acoustic design solutions are centered on acoustic performance, interior aesthetics and long-term practicality.
It is not merely simple sound absorption, but a professional combination of sound absorption, acoustic diffusion and reasonable reverberation adjustment. This creates a balanced and comfortable sound field that fits concerts, speeches, chorus and various indoor events.
While fully meeting international acoustic standards, we will optimize the overall solution and cost-effectiveness according to clients' actual budgets, and provide professional product selection guidance.
We prepare two grades of solutions for different projects:
For cost-control projects, we recommend the economical solution, using partial fabric-wrapped acoustic panels and wooden acoustic panels on walls, matched with glass fiber ceiling panels for basic reverberation control.
For high-end customized projects, we offer the premium solution with full-wall acoustic panels, acoustic diffusers and suspended ceiling absorbers. It delivers outstanding acoustic performance as well as elegant high-end interior decoration effects.
