Reverberation Time (RT60)

Cinema acoustics are designed for clarity of dialogue and impact of sound effects.

- Standard cinemas: 0.3 – 0.5 seconds (500-1000Hz)

- Large format/IMAX: 0.5 – 0.7 seconds

Short reverberation is critical to prevent sound mixing and preserve the clarity of the soundtrack.

 

 

 

Speech Intelligibility (STI) Levels

Dialogue clarity is the top priority for the movie-going experience:

- Target STI ≥ 0.70 (Excellent)

- Premium Dolby Atmos theaters: STI ≥ 0.75

Recommended noise criteria level: NC-20 to NC-25 (NC-30 max)

We provide two tailored solution options:

The economical solution applies partial polyester acoustic panels and fabric-wrapped panels together with black glass fiber ceiling, suitable for renovation and budget-friendly projects.

The high-end cinema solution adopts full-wall sound absorption and insulation system, plus suspended acoustic clouds on the ceiling. It realizes pure sound restoration, effective noise isolation, and matches the high-grade interior style of commercial cinemas.
